Utility Bills
Utility bills are mailed on the first of the month and are due when received and become delinquent if not paid by the 15th of every month.
Utilities provided by the Village of Wilcox are electricity, water, sewer, and garbage.
Utility bills can be mailed to PO Box 88, Wilcox, NE 68982 or placed in the blue drop box at Town Hall. A $250 utility deposit is required prior to service for all renters.

Emergencies
To report a fire or emergency, dial 911.
One long blast of sirens indicate tornado or severe weather, take cover. Several short blasts indicate fire or ambulance call, be cautious of emergency vehicles.
Testing of the sirens is done on the first Thursday every month at 5:30 p.m.
Garbage / Recycling / Landfill
Trash pickup is every Thursday. Wilcox is served by South Central Sanitation. View the SCS Facebook Page for more information and get updates on pickup schedules due to weather or other events. All residents are provided with a garbage dumpster, make sure to have your dumpster out by the street or alley by 7:30 a.m. No yard waste, hot ashes, or hot fireworks.
A recycling trailer is located to the south behind Town Hall. Bins on the trailer are clearly marked with the type of recyclables accepted. Corrugated cardboard boxes must be broken down and placed in the trailer behind Town Hall.
The Village Landfill is open on Wednesdays from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., and on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Only yard waste (trees, grass clippings, leaves) can be accepted. Directions from stoplight – ½ mile west, 1 mile south, ¼ mile west.
Pets
ALL DOGS must be licensed annually in May and proof of a current rabies vaccination must be given before a dog license is obtained. Wilcox does have a breed-specific ordinance in place.
Proof of liability insurance in the amount of $500,000 must be presented if you own one of the breeds of dog listed in our ordinance. Licenses can be purchased at the Clerk’s office at the Town Hall. The price is $6.00 each.
Dog owners must be responsible in keeping their dogs on their property, leashed or under control at all times. Excessive barking is considered a nuisance.
Library
The Wilcox Library is located inside the Town Hall and is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to Noon.
Stoplight News
The Stoplight News is an information sheet that is available to pick up from the Wilcox Post Office, Wilcox Cafe, and Cornerstone Bank. Pick up the latest issue of the Stoplight News to keep aware of upcoming community events and notices.

Food Pantry
The Wilcox Food Pantry is located at 121 S. Main Street. Food supplies are offered to anyone living in Kearney County or to families who have children in the Wilcox-Hildreth School district. We are supported by donations from the communities of Axtell, Hildreth, Funk, Wilcox, and several churches in these areas.
The Food Pantry is open every 3rd Wednesday of the month from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. For more information, call Cindy Woollen at (308) 999-2628.
Village Board Meeting
The Wilcox Village Board meets the second Tuesday of each month at the Town Hall at 7:30 p.m. and at 8:00 p.m. in summer months.
